The Vegvisir, commonly known as The Viking Compass, is a symbol from an Icelandic book of spells call the Huld Manuscript from the nineteenth century. The Vegvisir is commonly worn to for protection during travels and to guide the way. The Huld Manuscript says this about Vegvisir. “If this sign is carried, one will never lose one’s way in storms or bad weather, even when the way is not known.”
